Because some of these giant roundups are a tad overwhelming.

We’re pitching them, reading them and living them. Black Friday/Cyber Monday has become something of a Superbowl in affiliate-driven PR-land, but there are so many roundups and each one of them features tons of products. I’ve done some sleuthing and here are a few deals that might be worth it to shop. I will make specific mentions of products I already own that I would recommend buying on sale because they are a bit pricey!

Here’s one macro pro tip: you don’t have to wait until Black Friday anymore. Brands are running deals all month long, though some of them will up the ante for the big weekend after Thanksgiving. So, check out these deals, but maybe bookmark for Black Friday/Cyber Monday timeframe to see if the discounts get even steeper. If not, no harm, no foul. Just buy it then.

I’ve broken these deals down by category so you can easily scroll to a section that interests you most. The way I handle big sales like this is to think about what I might buy anyway and then see if it goes on sale. I tend to spend less money that way v. when I go sifting through all that’s available and start feeling the need to buy things simply because they are on sale.

Electronics: the holy grail of Black Friday/Cyber Monday:

  • Kindles: because there was a new Kindle recently released, there’s a good chance that the older models will be discounted for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. My daughter is getting a Kindle this year, so I’ve been paying extra attention, but we actually capitalized on Amazon Prime Day Part 2 to snag hers. I’m hoping for you other Kindle gifters out there that Black Friday/Cyber Monday brings slashed prices.

  • Garmin Venu 2 Fitness Tracker: This is the fitness tracker I’ve been using for the past couple of years and I really like it! I think the style is more attractive than the Fitbit I used to own and for me, it collects the perfect amount of data without being overwhelming. I use it for daily step count, stress and sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring during workouts. The battery life is less optimal than some others I’ve owned and I abhor the charger, but overall, I still like and use it daily. It’s on sale for $249.99 right now and since you don’t have to pay a monthly subscription fee, that’s a pretty reasonable price for it.

  • Ultimate Ears Wonderboom Portable Bluetooth Speaker: We have about 10 of these. We have one massive one in our garage gym, one small one in our bathroom, one in each of the kids’ room (for podcasts and audiobooks or Spotify Kids while they clean), one in the kitchen, one on the screened in porch … I could go on. We take them camping, to the beach, to the pool, to our firepit, etc. Every single one we have purchased, including the very first one from about 10 years ago, still works perfectly, has amazing battery life and is unbelievably durable/waterproof. We also use them as sound machines when the power goes out at night. The little guy is on sale for $80 (20% off!), so I would definitely recommend picking one up. These make great gifts and this little one could probably fit in most stockings!

  • eufy Robot Vacuum: We owned one of the very first robot vacuums and had plenty of problems with it. It scared our dog, sucked up stuff it wasn’t supposed to, got stuck in corners and then just died a disappointing death out of nowhere. I haven’t owned one in years, but I spend LOTS of time vacuuming my house and think this could be a great helper solution. This one has almost 67,000 reviews and 4.3 stars, so it looks promising, especially since it’s on sale for $130 (48% off!). I’ll definitely be bookmarking this one.

    Clothing and stuff

Most of the brands I like/want/need are probably not going to offer HUGE discounts because … well, they don’t need to. They are popular and people do NOT wait for them to go on sale to buy them. Looking at you, Ugg and Lululemon. Here are a few items on my “I want” list that I’m bookmarking to see if they go on sale:

  • Vuori Leggings: IYKYK. I have joggers, jumpers, shirts and sweatshirts from this company and they are all buttery soft and maintain perfect shape, texture and thickness despite TONS of washing (I wear them a LOT!). I love these leggings and want to add another pair to my rotation.

  • Staple Leggings for Girls: Gap and Athleta usually have pretty decent site-wide deals for Black Friday (think like 60% off). I use it to stock up on things we go through quickly, like these black leggings she wears under her school uniform. (Also from Athleta, I’m totally eyeing these shiny leggings in black, gold and silver …)

  • Staple Layers for Me: Zappos ALSO usually has some good deals, though not always on the biggest brands (though I did once snag an AWESOME pair of Frye boots on Black Friday for a great price!). I’m eyeing staples like this merino wool longsleeve – it’s perfect for hiking or even just morning dog walks in chilly weather.
