Here’s what the brains behind The PR Edit are currently eating, doing, thinking, and more…

Welcome to Currently- a monthly feature on The PR Edit! A throwback to old school blogging, Currently posts were some of our favorite ways to see what our fave blogger girls were wearing, listening to, and more. Now it is a fun way to share a quick snapshot of what is going on right at this absolute minute for both Molly and Sarah.
So Sarah is currently…
….eating so much homemade granola and dense bean salads. I recently did a MAJOR re-org and purge of my kitchen stuff. I went through every drawer and cabinet to thin out all the junk. This made a lot of room for meal prep so I’ve been on a make-everything-all-the-time kick. In the last few days I made a big batch of protein granola for yogurt toppings and morning cereal, a couple loaves of banana bread for the freezer, dense bean salads for my lunches all week, and some beet n’ greens shots for my husband and I.
…making time to get in some serious half marathon training mileage. I’ll keep it short but we are in the panic portion of half readiness and….well, let’s go.
…listening to my favorite band, Rilo Kiley, on an endless loop! They recently announced a string of reunion appearances after breaking up forever ago and since then I have been playing all of their songs nonstop.

…reading so many books. The first two months of this year have been seriously bookish. I have forgone a lot of my usual podcasts or tv shows to read and I’m just enjoying this current reading cycle I’m in. I just finished Rewind by Catherine Howard and man, I love her stuff.
…watching The White Lotus. Oh em gee. Was anyone else counting down to the season three premiere or just me? I don’t find myself watching a ton of TV lately but I will carve out time to catch up on my favorite doomed hotel chain. I dragged my walking pad in front of our basement TV so I could rewatch seasons one and two before diving into the new one.

…loving the little blast of winter we’ve been getting in Illinois! I know I may be solo here but I need a few big snowstorms to feel complete, you know? My kids had an e-learning day last week due to snow and we wound up getting more after that. While y’all hope for it to melt I just want one more big snow and then I promise I’ll be done with it. It’s cozy! Sledding is fun! It is an excuse to stay home!
…looking forward to vacation! We are going on a big family trip later this Spring and while I’ve known about it for months all the sudden I’m like HEY, WE ARE GOING ON A TRIP. I can’t wait to share packing tips, must-haves, and just really enjoy some time away with my fam.
And Molly is currently…
….eating leftover ice cream cake. Ella and I made our first ever homemade ice cream cake for Linus’ 7th birthday recently and it sure makes a LOT of cake. Not that we mind – it is crazy tasty and seems to keep pretty well. So much better than paying $75 for a store bought one (and it’s totally customizable!).
…making fun dances for 3rd-5th graders. For the past several years, I’ve volunteered as a “coach” for the kids’ school talent show and in addition to “American Idol’ing” all the acts (I’m def more of a Simon than a Paula – IYKYK), I team up with one other mom to choreograph an opening number for all the kids to shimmy in before the show starts. Last year, our song was “Clap Snap” by Icona Pop and this year we’re doing “APT” by Bruno Mars. It came out so wonderfully and I can’t wait to see the kids rock it on 2/21!
…listening to tons of new podcasts! I found some new ones (keeping track of them on my Pinterest board here), went down the rabbit hole of older episodes and ALSO tried to start catching up on intriguing episodes of ones I was already hooked on. You can check out the ones Sarah and I put together at the end of last year here. Right now, I’m really into Jay Shetty and The Skinny Confidential (the episode with Tony Robbins is lovely).
…reading all the books on my couchside table that people loaned me that I’ve been meaning to get to. I read Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, Tell Me Everything by Erika Krouse and I’m almost done with Book Lovers by Emily Henry. Thanks for your patience, everyone who loaned these to me. I’ll get ‘em back to you soon!
…watching (RE-watching) Wicked! I gave my kids a Valentine’s Day gift of a movie date night with mom – their choice of movie. I got them those trendy snack trays for their Stanley cups and lots of fun new eatables to try. Ella chose Wicked and I was not mad about re-watching it at home after having seen 1M TikTok videos about things I should be paying attention to.

…loving ANOTHER pair of sweatpants (and a sweatshirt!). Am I kidding? No. Did I almost REPOST my Athleta sweatpants because I am STILL wearing them that much a month later? (Dan and I calculated that at $80, I probably have them down to $2 per wear or perhaps even less.) Yes. I love these gray Athleta sweatpants SO MUCH that I wanted to get another pair for when they were dirty (which happens more often than I’d like, since I clean up the kitchen in them and the light gray does tend to show spills). I couldn’t wait for them to go on sale, but in the meantime, GAP had a sweat-things sale and I got black sweatpants and a hot pink sweatshirt. Don’t walk, RUN to get these in different colors and sizes. They are comfy, soft and so reasonably priced. My favorite thing about having to deal with winter weather is that I get to wear these things, so forgive my obsession.
-Gap Jogger Sweatpants (buy for $24)
-Gap Crewneck Sweatshirt (buy for $24)
…looking forward to some new pets. We will be adding to our backyard flock of chickies with FOUR NEW BABIES on March 13th (hopefully! I will be getting up at the crack of dawn to get in line so the hardware store that sells these gals doesn’t sell out). We’re adding some new breeds in that I’m excited about, including Black Australorps (to keep the hawks away) and Barred Rock (they are spotted beauties!).
