April Currently

Here’s what the brains behind The PR Edit are currently eating, doing, thinking, and more…

Welcome to Currently- a monthly feature on The PR Edit! A throwback to old school blogging, Currently posts were some of our favorite ways to see what our fave blogger girls were wearing, listening to, and more. Now it is a fun way to share a quick snapshot of what is going on right at this absolute minute for both Molly and Sarah.

So Molly is currently…

….eating so many Blackstone recipes! It’s spring/early summer here in the South, so it’s time to leave the stovetop behind and cook every meal outside on the smoker or the griddle. Our favorites are fajita bowls and burgers, but I store up inspiration on this Pinterest board and am always open to new ideas, so please drop any tasty gems you have for the Blackstone in the comments!

…making tea every dang night. It’s my new favorite start to a wind down ritual. If you haven’t tried Sweet Slumber from Numi, please do it ASAP (Buy on Amazon). It’s relaxing, refreshing and the perfect companion to any bedtime routine.

…listening to more Bob Dylan than usual. We just watched the biopic (A Complete Unknown) and while I didn’t love the movie, it did inspire me to revisit my bookmarked albums and get a little more Dylan in my life. My current fave is “Subterranean Homesick Blues” – you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

…reading all the books on my at home shelf. For the entire month of April, my library has suspended the ability to put holds on books or transfer them from one library to another (software update) and so I’ve been trying to get through the books on my shelf that I’ve borrowed from others!

…watching all the Indiana Jones movies. Can you believe I’ve never seen them before? Well, my husband couldn’t either, so we’ve been making our way through them all. It’s been crazy to see such a young Harrison Ford, when I’m used to him in present day via 1923, but these are highly entertaining!

…loving  our new siding, fence and chicken coop! We had so much work done in March/April and now most of it is FINALLY finished. We had our whole house re-sided (goodbye, ugly blue cedar), put a new fence up AND built a palace for our chickens. Time to flourish with more twinkle lights and enjoy it to the fullest.

…looking forward to spring break with my kiddos. We’ve had a FULL plate for a little while now, so I’m ready to enjoy some slower mornings, walks with my babes, maybe a trip or two to Inner Peaks and having the kids home for a few days.

And Sarah is currently…

….eating Fruit Riot grapes. I *think* Fruit Riot was super trendy a few months ago but I just got into them recently.  The grapes are my fave and a perfect little zing when I need a sweet treat at the end of the day.

…making so many loaves of sourdough. I finally have the full hang of this fermented thing and my family is REAPING the benefits. In the last couple weeks I’ve made so many regular loaves, cheddar chive, blueberry cream cheese, strawberry cheesecake, and more. So. Much. Bread.

…listening to KESHA. Ok, one of the most Millennial things about me is my deep love for Kesha. Her new song Yippee Ki Yay (featuring Millenial wonder T-Pain) is the perfect bubblegum recession pop and I have had it on repeat for literal days. Sometimes we just need to shake our booty and listen to something silly and fun.

…reading all the books as always! Sometimes when I go to the library to pick up my stacks of holds I’ll peruse the aisles and wait for a book to call out to me. I will fully admit I picked up Mostly Dead Things by Kristen Arnett because of the title and cover. I wound up LOVING this book and needed to know what the Morton family was going to do. I finished it in two days.

…watching sitcoms galore! Client work while also scouting new business and PTO chairing (hi, my fellow Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week folks who are so busy right now!) and travel baseball and kid activities and fun social things and end-of-year things have me running ragged. When I’m super busy like this I rarely want to start a new show or get invested in something so I turn to the cheesiest, nostalgic sitcoms for my walking pad time or as background noise while I work, craft, clean, yada yada. I’ve recently increased my daily step goal so when I get up early to make some miles happen I’ve been turning on one of my fave half hour comedies ever, Happy Endings

…loving having our windows open even when my allergies are not having it. There are few things I love as much as fresh air in my house and, ooooh, it is all the good feelings. We love you, Spring. I am so ready for our yard to be blooming and beautiful (yet I have no desire to do all that yardwork to make it happen…yet).

…looking forward to SLEEP. April and May are b-a-n-a-n-a-s and I am looking forward to finding time to just close my eyes or lay down or throw my phone in the garbage for an hour. Is it just me? Is Spring insane for all of us?

We’re Sarah and Molly

Sarah and Molly were bloggers many moons ago – back in the earlier 2000’s when blogging was all the rage and we spent the first 30 minutes of every work day (in the office we shared together) AIM’ing links back and forth to each other to catch up on all the tea. We launched The PR Edit in 2024. Less & More is the newest chapter in our blogging journey, focused on motherhood musings, shopping secrets, life lessons, and our usual chit chat.

We are so happy to have you on our corner of the Internet.
