Welcome to The PR Edit’s Page Turners, a monthly feature featuring all books we read the previous month and what we are stacking our TBR with for the weeks ahead. As two bookworms we believe reading is not a competition and there’s no wrong way to be a reader. We are constantly adding to our TBR stack and leafing through books from a bunch of genres. So if you’re looking for your next read or listen? Here’s what we’re currently diving into…
Sarah’s Pages
-Number of Books Read in August: 17 (thanks, audiobooks)
-Favorite Book from the Month: I read SO many good ones! Some favorites include Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books which I read with my book club and So Happy Together was a fun BookTok rec that I wound up speeding through.
-One that was Underwhelming: I don’t think it was necessarily the book but just where my head was when I read it but Tell Me What You Did just dragged for me. I was initially engaged but about halfway through was over it.
-What’s on My September TBR: I have been counting the seconds until the release of Play Nice by Rachel Harrison. Rachel is one of my favorite writers in the world and, boy, do I love a haunted house/ghost story trope more than almost anything else. I can’t wait until my pre-ordered copy arrives just in time for chilly, spooky, cozy reading time (in my car while I chauffeur my children to activities).
-Where to Keep Up with My Book Stack: I track my reads with The StoryGraph and have running library wishlists on ShopMy and Pinterest.
Molly’s Pages
-Number of Books Read in August: 14
-Favorite Book from the Month: So hard to pick! I read a lot that I really enjoyed. But I think if I had to choose, it would be Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins. I’m now officially psyched for the movie to come out next year!
-One that was Underwhelming: I read two by Frieda McFadden that were only ok. (One by One + The Co Worker). I have heard great things about The Housemaid, but in all the FM I’ve read so far, I actually haven’t gotten to that one. Need to!
-What’s on My September TBR: All the fun fall reads! I started a short list in this post about fall dopamine menus, but am scouring TikTok and Pinterest for more recs in cozy fall or horror/thriller genres!
-Where to Keep Up with My Book Stack: I pin ideas from Pinterest and track my progress toward my 100 books for 2025 on GoodReads.
We are both always looking to stack our TBRs so tell us, what are you reading this month?
Speaking of reading…thanks for reading our words! We cannot thank our supporters enough and our work exists because of YOU. Please consider subscribing or sharing to keep the pages turning.
